What an invoice in Spain must include
- Invoice number and series, date of issue
- Full name or company name, NIF and address of issuer and recipient
- Description of operations and unit price excluding tax
- Taxable base (base imponible), IVA rate and IVA amount
- IRPF withholding rate and amount when billing a business as a professional

Rules worth knowing
- Professionals (autónomos) invoicing Spanish businesses must deduct IRPF: 15% normally, 7% in the year you start and the two following years. It is subtracted from the total, calculated on the base before IVA.
- No IRPF withholding applies when invoicing private individuals.
- VeriFactu invoicing-software rules are scheduled to apply from 2027; a PDF invoice remains valid until then.
